Wilson Cabin

Prentiss Architects :: San Juan Island :: Date Finished: 1990
This house was our first waterfront remodel using an existing footprint to create something new and unique.
This tiny two room house feels like a houseboat. It’s site is very sensitive due to it’s close relationship to the shoreline and the archeological significance of the many Northwest Native American shell middens.
Designed by architect Geoff Prentiss, it’s uniqueness is one of the reasons this house has been published in many books and magazines. One of the more interesting features is the sod roof which, when seen from the passing road above, helps it almost disappear.
