Architect: Joe Herrin at Heliotrope :: Orcas Island

Another very current design consisting of concrete, glass, steel and wood conceptualized by architectural firm Heliotrope is located on a high bluff on Orcas Island. Architect Joe Herrin designed a long lean structure weaving through a precious Madrona Grove to take advantage of the incredible views. A very important component of the design was to integrate the trees and mossy rocks that define this sight. Foreman Lloyd Thompsen directed this very complicated and interesting project.
