Prentiss Architects ::  San Juan Island  ::  Date Finished:1996

This project was a Ravenhill tour de force using all our creative and organizational talents, and remains one of our favorite homes to date.

This project had everything; great clients, spectacular location, vibrant materials, and encompassing design.

Geoff Prentiss developed a design that utilized a remarkable display of indigenous materials. A log salvaged from local waters and milled at nearby Egg Lake Shake and Sawmill covers the ceilings in the home. Field stones and boulders from the surrounding area cascade into the great room as a hearth and aged recycled wood warms the floors beneath scattered carpets.

This house won Ravenhill the Custom Builder of the Year Awards for Best Interior Details and Best Home 4,000 to 5,500 square feet. All doors and windows were made by local craftsmen at Windowcraft in Friday Harbor.

Awards:

1999 Custom Builder of the Year Awards
-Best Interior Details
-Best Home: Over 4,000-5,500 Sq Ft
